Recipe #43: The Final Fruitcake

Well folks, it has been a couple of weeks since FoodPornWeekend wrapped up, and a couple of weeks since my last posting. I had promised to write and let you know how the final recipe, Spiced Rum Fruitcake, turned out. Now I do admit, I dutifully tried out this fruitcake on the Tuesday following FPW, but am only getting around to writing about it now.

Anyway, long story short. This recipe was just okay. It wasn't bad by any means, and I would definitely eat it if it were in front of me, but I'll be honest -- when it had to follow up things like Lemon Gingersnap Meringues, Beef Wellington, and Seared Scallops, it just wasn't going to shine on. However, it did provide great memories of a fantastic weekend.
